Meet The Team
Stephanie Finger is the founder of CREA Curriculum + Consulting, an education nonprofit with the mission to grow the next generation of creative leaders across disciplines. She has ten years of education experience as a teacher, education consultant, instructional coach, and curriculum writer. Prior to launching CREA, she served as the Individualized Learning Program Manager for the National Team at IDEA Public Schools. In this role, she developed individualized learning curriculum for 6th-12th graders at 30 schools across Texas. Previously, she worked as the Central Texas Individualized Learning Program Manager, coaching principals to effectively implement individualized learning programs at 20 campuses in San Antonio and Austin. Stephanie is a certified English & General Education Teacher, a certified Gifted & Talented Teacher, and a certified Reading Specialist. She received a master’s degree in Literacy and Language from the Curriculum and Instruction Department at the University of Texas at Austin. She’s also a graduate of the UTeach program and formerly taught 6-8th grade English, reading intervention, magazine writing, and photography at KIPP Liberation, a charter school in the Third Ward of Houston. Recently, Stephanie’s case analysis of a 4th grade student became the centerpiece of a national conference presentation for the Literacy Research Association. Her academic work has been published in Voices from the Middle, a peer-reviewed education journal under the National Council of Teachers of English umbrella.
Mallory is the Marketing & Design Manager at CREA. She oversees social media, community outreach, and our communication strategy. She’s also spearheads the visual design of all our curriculum materials. Mallory is currently a marketing and communications major at Trinity University. Mallory’s creative leadership is an enormous asset to our team and mission.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Cristina Noriega is a painter & muralist, a parent, and a public education advocate. Her background is in PR and Marketing, formerly serving as the Marketing Director at The Doseum. She’s the founder of East Side Studios, a creative studio space for artists located in the East Sides promise neighborhood. She brings a deep care for San Antonio families to all that she does.
David Jones is an attorney who represents startups, entrepreneurs, and emerging companies. He also serves as an outside general counsel to businesses at stages ranging from ideation to funding and beyond. His firm engages the community in a variety of ways, including sponsorships of startup weekends, workshops on the key issues business owners face, and mentoring in startup and growth focused accelerators and incubators.
Ana Calhoun is the Manager of Research & Innovation at Overland Partners. She represents what it means to be a part of San Antonio’s creative workforce. She brings a sustainability lens to her work as an architect, researcher, and lifelong learne
Kimberly Sama, is the Learning Pathway Architect (still one of the coolest job titles I’ve heard!) for UP Partnership. She is an entrepreneurial humanitarian with fifteen years of domestic and international development and leadership experience. She is passionate about community and dedicated to growing sustainable social impact
